How to Contact Instagram Support

Instagram has no phone line and no public support email for regular users. The channels below are the real ones. Pick the one that matches your problem.

First, rule out an outage

Many “I need support” moments are just Instagram being down. Run our live Instagram status check. If Instagram is down, no form will help. Wait it out. If it is up, find your problem below.

Each channel below is free unless we say otherwise.

1. The Instagram Help Center

The Instagram Help Center is the main channel. It looks like a help site. But the forms inside it are how you reach a person. Search your problem. Then look for a link like “let us know” at the bottom of the article. Those open the forms.

Best for: hacked accounts, username issues, copyright, and problems with one feature.

2. Report a problem inside the app

This is the fastest way to flag a bug.

  1. Open Instagram and shake your phone. A Report a problem box pops up.
  2. Or go to your profile, tap the menu, then Settings and activityHelpReport a problem.
  3. Describe what is broken in one or two lines. Add a screenshot.

You will not usually get a reply. Instagram uses these reports to spot bugs that hit many people. For a bug that is only yours, see our guides on Instagram not loading and DMs not working.

3. The login issue form

If you cannot log in at all, use the login issue form. It is built for accounts that are locked, hacked, or stuck at a screen. You give your username, email and a short note. Instagram replies by email. It may ask for a selfie video to prove the account is yours.

For a hacked account, also try instagram.com/hacked. It walks you through recovery step by step.

4. Appeal a suspension or removed post

Appeals do not go through a form. They start where the action happened.

  • Suspended account: log in, read the screen, tap Disagree with decision. Our suspended account guide covers what to write and the 180-day deadline.
  • Removed post or reel: go to Settings and activityAccount status. Each removed item has a Request a review button.
  • Reach limits: also in Account status.

5. Meta Verified chat support

Meta Verified is a paid plan. It includes live chat with a real support agent. If your account matters to your income, this is the only way to get a person on demand. Go to Settings and activityMeta Verified to see the price in your country.

Honest note: chat agents help with login, security and billing. They cannot overturn a Community Guidelines decision on the spot.

6. Meta Business Help Center for ads

If your problem is an ad account, a payment, or a business page, use the Meta Business Help Center at facebook.com/business/help. Advertisers with active spend often get live chat or email there. Regular accounts do not.

Fake “Instagram support” to avoid

This is the part we see go wrong most often. A customer gets a DM from an account like “instagram_help_team”. It says their account will be deleted for copyright. Or that they qualify for a blue badge. There is a link. The link asks for the password.

Instagram does not work this way.

  • Instagram does not DM users about copyright, badges or deletion.
  • Real notices show in Account status in the app. Real emails end in @mail.instagram.com or @facebookmail.com.
  • No real agent asks for your password, a login code, or a payment to “restore” your account.

If you already clicked one, change your password now. Turn on two-factor login. Then check Where you’re logged in under Accounts Center and remove devices you do not know.

The same rule applies to any service. Famoid only ever asks for a public username. We never ask for a password, and no honest service needs one.

How long does Instagram take to reply?

There is no set time. Form replies can take days. Appeals can take hours or weeks. Submit once and keep your email and phone nearby. Repeat requests do not move you up the queue.

Quick answers

The short version, for people in a hurry.

No. The number listed for Meta's office plays a recording and takes no calls about accounts. Anyone who offers a phone line for Instagram help is not Instagram.
Not for regular users. Emails to old addresses like [email protected] bounce or go unread. Real replies come from forms and appeals, sent from addresses ending in instagram.com or facebookmail.com.
Meta Verified subscribers get live chat with a person. Advertisers get chat through the Meta Business Help Center. Everyone else uses forms, and the first reply is usually automated.
Log in, read the suspension screen, and tap Disagree with decision. Follow the prompts. If there is no button, use the login-issue form on the Help Center.
Almost never. Instagram does not DM users about copyright strikes, verification or account deletion. Real notices show in Settings under Account status, or arrive from an official email address.
