Where to find saved reels on Instagram (iPhone and Android)
Saved Reels are not on the Reels tab. They sit inside your profile menu.
- Open Instagram and tap your profile picture, bottom right.
- Tap the menu (three lines) in the top right.
- Tap Saved.
- Tap Reels at the top.
The steps are the same on iPhone and Android. If you do not see a Reels tab, tap All posts. Your Reels are mixed in with saved photos there. A very old app build may lack the tab, so update from the App Store or Google Play.
How to see saved reels on Instagram web
The desktop site works a little differently.
- Open instagram.com and log in.
- Click your profile picture, then Profile.
- Click the Saved tab under your bio.
On web, Reels and posts share one grid. There is no separate Reels filter. Look for the small Reels icon in the corner of each tile.
Saved reels and collections
Instagram sorts saves into collections. Think of them as folders. When you save a Reel, you can add it to a collection in the same tap.
To save into a collection:
- Tap and hold the bookmark icon on a Reel.
- Pick a collection, or tap + to make a new one.
To make a collection later:
- Go to Saved and tap + in the top right.
- Name it, then pick Reels from your saved list.
Collections show on the main Saved screen. All posts always holds everything, no matter the folder.
How to save and unsave a reel
To save: open any Reel and tap the bookmark icon on the right side. To unsave: tap the same icon again. The Reel leaves your list at once. There is no confirm step.
You can also clear many at once. Open Saved, tap the three dots, tap Select, pick the Reels, then Unsave.
Why a saved reel disappeared
This is the question we hear most. Saving is a bookmark, not a copy. Your list points to the creator’s Reel. If that Reel goes away, so does your bookmark. The usual reasons:
- The creator deleted the Reel.
- The creator archived it. It comes back if they unarchive.
- The account went private and you do not follow it.
- The account was disabled or deleted.
- Instagram removed the Reel for a rule break.
- You were blocked by the creator.
If your whole Saved list is empty or will not load, the cause is different. It is usually a cache or connection issue. See Instagram Reels not working for fixes. Clearing the cache helps more often than not. Our clear cache guide shows how.
Is saving a reel private?
Yes. Nobody can see what you saved. Your Saved tab is visible only to you. The creator sees a total save count in their insights, with no names. That is the same way views work. Our guide on whether you can see who views your Reels explains what creators actually see.
We checked this on our own creator accounts. Insights show a saves count and nothing more. No list, no profiles.
Instagram’s Help Center has the current notes on saving and collections if the buttons ever move.
A note for creators
Saves are a strong signal. Instagram treats a save as a sign the Reel was worth keeping. If you make Reels, asking viewers to save for later is fair game. Famoid also sells Reels views paced over time, with only a link to the Reel needed.
