What is a URL in Instagram?
A URL is a web address. Your Instagram URL is the address of your profile. It always follows one pattern:
https://www.instagram.com/username/
Replace “username” with your own handle. That is it. There is no separate ID or code. Your username is the link.
Instagram URL, Instagram link, profile link and Instagram address are all the same thing. So does “Instagram web address”.
Instagram URL example
Our own profile link looks like this:
https://www.instagram.com/famoidofficial/
If your username is jane_doe, your URL is https://www.instagram.com/jane_doe/. The short form instagram.com/jane_doe works too. Capital letters do not matter.
How to find my Instagram URL on iPhone or Android
The fastest way is to copy it from the app.
- Open Instagram and go to your profile.
- Tap Share profile under your bio. If you do not see it, tap the three-line menu and look for QR code or Share profile.
- Tap Copy link.
- Paste it anywhere. It will read instagram.com/yourusername.
You can also just read your username at the top of your profile. Type instagram.com/ and add it. Same link.
How to find my Instagram URL on the web
- Go to instagram.com in a browser and log in.
- Click your profile picture, then Profile.
- Look at the address bar. That is your URL.
- Click it and copy.
For someone else’s profile, open their page and copy the address bar. Or tap the three dots on their profile and choose Copy profile URL.
Instagram URL for a post or Reel
Each post and Reel has its own link. The formats are:
- Post: instagram.com/p/CODE/
- Reel: instagram.com/reel/CODE/
The CODE is a short mix of letters and numbers. Instagram picks it, not you. To copy it, open the post, tap the three dots, then Copy link.
This is the link you share when you want someone to see one post. It is also all that Famoid needs for likes or views on one post.
How to change my Instagram URL
Your URL is your username. So changing one changes the other.
- Go to your profile and tap Edit profile.
- Tap Username and type a new one.
- Tap Done.
Your new URL goes live at once. The old one stops working. Update it in your other bios, your email footer and any printed cards. Instagram lets you switch back to the old username within 14 days if nobody else takes it.
Some names are taken or blocked. Instagram’s Community Guidelines list what is not allowed.
Why your Instagram URL matters
It is how people reach you outside the app. Put it on your website, your TikTok bio, your YouTube page and your email footer. One tap and they land on your profile.
It is also the safe way to use any growth service. A Famoid order only needs your public profile link or post link. We never ask for your password, and no honest service should. If a site asks you to log in to “verify” your account, close it.
If your link opens to a blank page or an error, the account may be private or renamed. Or Instagram may be down. Check Instagram not loading for fixes. To check the follower count behind any public link, use our free follower count checker.
