How Many Followers on TikTok to Get Paid?

There is no single number. TikTok has several ways to earn, and each one has its own rule. Here they are, side by side.

The thresholds at a glance

Way to earn Followers needed Other rules
Live gifts 1,000 Age 18+
Creator Rewards Program 10,000 100,000 views in last 30 days, age 18+, videos over 1 minute, eligible country
TikTok Shop affiliate About 1,000 (varies by country) Age 18+
Brand deals None Brands look at views and niche
Selling your own product None You need something to sell

Numbers come from TikTok’s own Creator Portal as of August 2026. TikTok changes them from time to time. Check the Creator tools in your app for your country.

1. Live gifts — 1,000 followers

Once you have 1,000 followers and are 18 or older, you can go live. Viewers can send you virtual gifts. Gifts turn into Diamonds. You can cash out Diamonds once you reach the minimum in your country. TikTok keeps a share. Viewers buy gifts with Coins. Our TikTok Coins guide explains what each gift is worth.

Full details on the Live rule are in our guide: How many followers to go live on TikTok?

2. Creator Rewards Program — 10,000 followers

This is the program that pays for views. To join you need:

  • 100,000 video views in the last 30 days
  • Age 18 or older
  • An account in an eligible country (the US, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Korea and Brazil are included)
  • Videos longer than one minute that follow the rules

Pay is per 1,000 qualified views. Creators report somewhere between $0.40 and $1.00. Topics with high ad demand pay more. Videos people watch to the end pay more. For real examples by view count, see how much TikTok pays.

3. TikTok Shop affiliate — about 1,000 followers

You add products from TikTok Shop to your videos and Lives. When someone buys, you get a commission. In most countries you need about 1,000 followers and to be 18 or older. Some regions set it lower. Open the Shop tab in your app to see the rule for you.

4. Brand deals — no minimum

A brand pays you to feature their product. There is no follower rule. Brands care about your views, your niche and how real your audience looks. Small accounts with a tight niche get deals all the time.

5. Your own product — no minimum

Sell a course, a preset pack, a print, a service. TikTok is the shop window. This is how most small creators actually earn.

How to reach the numbers faster

  • Post every day. More videos means more chances to land on the For You page.
  • Make the first two seconds count. Watch time is what TikTok rewards.
  • Go longer than one minute once you aim for Creator Rewards. Shorter videos do not count.
  • Reply to comments with video. It feeds the algorithm and your audience.
  • Track your count. Our free TikTok follower counter shows your live number so you know exactly how close you are.
  • Learn what works. Our guide to getting more followers on TikTok goes deeper on each step.

A paced follower push can help you cross a line like 1,000 for Live or Shop. Famoid sells TikTok followers, likes and views with gradual delivery and no password. But bought followers do not create watch time. Creator Rewards pays for real views, so the content still has to do the work.

Quick answers

The short version, for people in a hurry.

It depends on the method. Live gifts need 1,000 followers. The Creator Rewards Program needs 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Brand deals and affiliate links have no fixed minimum.
Creators report roughly $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views in the Creator Rewards Program. The rate changes by country, topic and watch time. TikTok does not publish a fixed rate.
Yes, but not from TikTok itself. You can sell your own product, use affiliate links, or get paid by a brand to post. Those depend on views and trust, not on follower count.
In most countries you need about 1,000 followers and to be 18 or older. The rule varies by region and changes over time, so check the Shop tab in your app.
Only partly. Followers can open doors like Live and Shop. But Creator Rewards pays for real views and watch time, which bought followers do not create. Use a push to cross a threshold, then earn with content.
