Instagram has about 2 billion monthly active users. Meta confirmed that number in late 2022. It has not given a newer Instagram-only count since. So 2 billion is still the figure to quote. The 25 to 34 group is the largest slice, at roughly 30 percent. People over 45 make up under 20 percent. These splits come from Statista and DataReportal. Gender is close to even. Worldwide there are slightly more men. In the US there are slightly more women. ## Instagram Reels statistics Reels launched in August 2020. By 2024, Meta said Reels made up about half of all time spent on Instagram. Meta also reported over 200 billion Reels plays a day. That count covers Facebook and Instagram together.
