Switch to a private account This is the one setting that hides your follower list from people who do not follow you. 1. Open Instagram and go to your profile. 2. Tap the menu (three lines) in the top right. 3. Tap **Settings and activity**. 4. Tap **Account privacy**. 5. Turn on **Private account**. What changes: - Strangers see your follower count, but they cannot open the list. - Strangers cannot see your posts, Reels or Stories. - New followers must send a request. You approve or ignore it. You can hide how many likes a post gets. - For one post: open the post, tap the three dots, then **Hide like count**. - For all posts: **Settings and activity** → **Like and share counts** → turn on **Hide like and share counts**.
