# How to Get More Followers on Facebook

Page: https://famoid.com/how-to-get-more-followers-on-facebook/

Turn on pro mode or use a Page, invite your friends to follow, post Reels that people outside your circle can find, and post when Insights says your audience is online. Skip engagement bait, since Facebook cuts its reach.

## The short answer

Make sure people can follow you. That means a Page, or a profile with pro mode on. Invite your friends. Post Reels, since Reels reach people who do not follow you yet. Post when Insights says your audience is online. Do not beg for follows, because Facebook cuts the reach of engagement bait.

## Followers vs likes: what counts now

On a Page, followers are the number that matters. Facebook replaced the Like button on Pages with a Follow button. If someone liked your Page and also followed it, they still follow it. If they only liked it, that link was removed.

So "Page likes" and "Page followers" now mean the same thing. This guide covers followers and reach. For reactions on single posts, see [how to get more likes on Facebook](/how-to-get-more-likes-on-facebook/).

## Step 1: let people follow you

Followers can only come from two places.

| Where | Who can follow | How to set it up |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A Page | Anyone | Create a Page. It has a Follow button by default. |
| A personal profile | Friends only, unless pro mode is on | Turn on pro mode |

To turn on pro mode: click your profile photo, then your name. Click **Options** under the cover photo. Click **Turn on professional mode**, then **Turn on**. Facebook's [pro mode page](https://www.facebook.com/help/2978174759158711) says this sets **Who can follow me** to Public. You also get insights and creator tools.

One warning. If you turn pro mode off later, that setting goes back to Friends. You lose every follower who is not your friend. Turning it back on lets public followers in again.

## Step 2: invite the people you already know

This is the fastest first hundred. Go to your Page. Click **Options** under the cover photo, then **Invite friends**. Pick names and click **Send invitations**. In the app, tap **Options**, then **Invite friends**, pick people, then tap **Send invitations**.

Facebook does not publish a daily invite limit. If the button stops working for a while, wait a day and try again.

## Step 3: post Reels to reach people who do not follow you

Reels are the main way strangers find you on Facebook. Since June 2025, every video you post on Facebook is shared as a Reel. Reels can be any length or orientation.

Facebook's [Reels tips page](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1708053352711643) lists what gets Reels seen and what holds them back.

- Use vertical video. Facebook says horizontal video is harder for others to recreate.
- Use your own footage. Pages get the most reach when most content is filmed or made by you.
- Use music from the Facebook library or your own audio.
- Avoid blurry video, borders, and watermarks from other apps.
- Keep captions clean. Facebook says captions with no links, few capital letters, and five hashtags or fewer perform best.

To post a Reel on desktop: click your name, then **Reels**, then **Create a Reel**. Click **Add Video**, pick your file, choose your audience, and click **Publish**. Set the audience to **Public** so people outside your friends can find it.

Facebook's ranking system predicts whether a viewer will watch a video to the end. A short video with a clear start beats a long one that drifts.

## Step 4: post when your audience is online

Open your Page and go to **Professional dashboard**, then **Insights**. It shows when your audience is on Facebook. Age, gender and location only show up once Facebook has data from 100 or more people.

Pick the two busiest hours and post then for two weeks. Then check Insights again. Who posted and when are two of the signals Facebook uses to rank a post.

## Step 5: borrow reach from groups and Instagram

**Share to groups.** Switch into your Page. Under the post, click **Share**, then **Share in a group**. Pick the group, add a line of text, and click **Share**. Only share where the post fits the group's topic, or admins will remove it.

**Cross-post from Instagram.** Before you share a post on Instagram, scroll to **Share to** and turn on your Facebook Page. To make this automatic, open **Accounts Center**, then **Sharing across profiles**. Pick Instagram as the source and Facebook as the target. Then turn on **Instagram posts**.

Both tools put your post in front of people who have never seen your Page. Some of them will follow.

## What Facebook demotes

**Engagement bait.** Facebook's [engagement bait page](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/259911614709806) says posts and Pages that use it get less distribution. It names four kinds: react baiting, comment baiting, share baiting and vote baiting. "Follow for part two" and "Like if you agree" both count. Asking for help, advice or recommendations is allowed.

**Fake engagement.** Bots, exchange groups, and copies of the same content across many Pages all count. Facebook says accounts that do this get reduced distribution and lose access to monetization.

**Recycled content.** Reposting other people's videos, even with your watermark, is not enough. Facebook wants creative edits, voiceover or commentary.

## Why am I not getting followers?

Check these in order.

1. **Can people follow you?** If you post from a profile without pro mode, only friends can follow. Fix that first.
2. **Are you posting video?** Text and link posts do not travel outside your followers. Reels do.
3. **Are you posting at dead hours?** Compare your post times with Insights.
4. **Is the account restricted?** A restricted or hacked Page stops growing. Our guide on [how to contact Facebook](/how-to-contact-facebook/) covers the fixes.
5. **Are you tracking the right number?** Facebook rounds counts on Pages. If you run an Instagram account too, our free [Instagram follower count checker](/instagram-follower-count-checker/) shows the exact figure there.

## Paid options, honestly

Facebook's own tool is a boosted post. Switch into your Page, click **Ads center**, then **Advertise**, then **Boost Facebook content**. Click **Boost post** on the post you want. You pick a goal, an audience, a duration and a daily budget, then click **Publish**. One catch: boosting from the iPhone or iPad app may add a 30 percent Apple fee on top.

Famoid sells [Facebook Page followers and Page likes](/facebook/) delivered through ads. We do not use bots. We only need your Page link, never your password. Paid reach gets your Page seen, but people still decide to follow based on what they find there.

## Quick answers

**How do I get followers on a Facebook Page?**

Open your Page, click Options under the cover photo, then Invite friends. Post Reels and photos, share posts to groups you belong to, and post when Insights shows your audience online. Pages now have a Follow button instead of Like, so every accepted invite is a follower.

**How do I get 1,000 followers on Facebook?**

Invite everyone you know first. Then post Reels most days, since Reels reach people who do not follow you yet. Cross-post from Instagram if you have one. Most Pages that reach 1,000 do it with steady posting over a few months, not one viral post.

**How do I let people follow my personal profile?**

Turn on professional mode. Click Options under your cover photo, then Turn on professional mode. Facebook sets Who can follow me to Public. If you turn pro mode off later, that setting goes back to Friends and you lose followers who are not friends.

**How do I get more views on Facebook?**

Post video as Reels, keep it vertical, and use your own footage. Facebook says blurry, watermarked or horizontal Reels are less discoverable. Post when your audience is online, and share the Reel to groups.

**Why am I not getting followers on Facebook?**

The usual causes are a profile that only friends can follow, text-only posts, engagement bait, or posting at the wrong time. Turn on pro mode or use a Page, switch to Reels and photos, and check Insights for the hours your audience is on Facebook.

**Can you buy Facebook followers?**

Facebook sells reach through boosted posts and ads. Its rules ban fake engagement from bots or exchange groups and cut reach for accounts that use them. Famoid sells Facebook Page followers delivered through ads, not bots.
