How to Save Instagram Reels in Gallery (With Music)

Short video contents are on the rise, and that’s why more creators are now putting their time and effort into creating short videos. Instagram Reels is easily one of the most popular short video platforms on the internet right now, right behind TikTok.

This is because Instagram tightly integrates the Reels within the app itself, and users get both social media posts and short video content from a single app.

And if you’re a reels lover, you would relate that some of the reels are just irresistible, and you just want to download them right away in your phone gallery.

But unfortunately, downloading Reels is a pretty confusing task.

But you don’t have to worry.

In this post, we’ll show you how to save Instagram reels in your gallery with or without music.

The methods we’re going to show you are going to be super easy, and everyone can do this without any confusion.

Can You Save a Reel From Instagram?

You can save your own Reels to your gallery, but there is a catch in that, which we will discuss below.

Also, you cannot save the Reels of other creators in your gallery using the official Instagram app. There is no built-in feature that allows you to download Reels from other Instagram pages.

How to Download Instagram Reels Using The Instagram App

This method only applies if you are the original creator of the Reel and it’s on your Instagram account.

However, there is a catch: If you have used music or audio from some other Instagram Account/Creator, then you will not be able to download the Reel with audio (in some cases).

The Reel will be saved to your gallery without audio. If you are okay with it, here is how to download Instagram Reels using the Instagram pp:

Step 1: Open Instagram, tap on your profile and then tap on the Reel that you want to save from your posts.

Step 2: Click on the Reel to open it in the Reels format.

Step 3: Click on the three-dots icons at the bottom-right corner.

Step 4: Now click on “Save to Camera Roll”.

That’s it! Now the Reel will be saved in your gallery.

Keep in mind, that if you have used audio or music from another creator in your reels, in some saved videos, you might not get the audio.

How to Download Instagram Reels With Music Using Online Reels Downloader

It happens to a lot of us all the time: we see a reel and we immediately want to download it and send it to our friends on WhatsApp or some other messaging app, right?

Since Instagram does not have the built-in option to save Reels, you will have to use a downloader app for this purpose.

Although there are a lot of apps you can find on the Play Store and App Store, using an online downloader website is still the best way. Here is how to save Instagram Reels in your gallery using an online Reels downloader:

Step 1: Open the Reels that you wish to download.

Step 2: Tap on the three-dots icon at the bottom right and then tap on the Copy link option.

iGram is one of the best online Reels downloader sites, and we used this to download our Reel.

Step 4: Open the Reels downloader, paste the link to the Reel, and tap on Download.

Step 5: You will now see the preview of the Reel, scroll down and tap on Download .mp4.

That’s it! Your Reel will now download and will be saved to your gallery.

In this method, the background music won’t be removed and the video will be saved with the audio itself.

How to Save Instagram Reels in Your Gallery Using Screen Recorder

iPhones with iOS 11 and later already have built-in screen recorder functionality. For Android smartphones, there are tons of screen recorder apps. So, you can also save an Instagram Reel using a screen recorder.

For iPhones

If your iPhone has iOS 11 or later then it comes with a built-in screen recording feature. By default, it is not available in the Control Centre. But you can add it there using Settings.

Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone, and tap on Control Centre.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on the + icon next to the Screen Recording option.

This will add the screen recording feature to the Control Centre.

Step 3: Scroll down to open the Control Centre. Tap on the Screen Recording option.

Step 4: Once the screen recording starts, open the Reel you want to save, and record it. Once the entire Reel is recorded, stop the screen recorder using the Control Centre.

That’s it! The screen recording will be automatically saved to your camera roll.

For Android

Some Android smartphone brands do include built-in screen recorders. If your smartphone has it, then you can use it to record the Reels from Instagram. Otherwise, you can also download a screen recording app from the Play Store. Just make sure that you download a trusted app.

A Word of Caution

Many people love downloading Instagram Reels on their smartphones. It is one of the reasons why you will find a lot of Instagram Reels downloader apps.

But some of them ask you to log in to your Instagram Account or ask for your credentials. No matter how trusted these apps might be, you should never provide your Instagram login credentials to a third-party app.

By doing so, you can compromise your security and privacy. So just avoid any app that asks you to log in with your Instagram account.

Conclusion

So that was all about how to save Instagram Reels in your gallery.

We hope this guide helps you to save and share your favorite Reels from Instagram with everyone.

The safest methods to save Reels are using Instagram Stories and built-in Screen Recorders.

You should try to use these two methods as much as possible.
